Struggling to work out what I'm looking at, you've got enough crap on this boat to sink her. Which photo is the aft cabin? You say that she was built stronger than the designers plan recommended this usually means heavier which adversely effects the sailing characteristics. When boat builder make changes they are always to save them money. Having said that I love these Piver designs, light and fast but look after her they rot when they're neglected and age fast in the tropics. What a shame you didn't get to finish her and fulfil your dreams. Good luck for the future.
I love the boat. Trimarans are junk magnets. They have more room than carrying capacity. As long as you clean out before setting sail that is fine, though after a certain point it is a deterrent to taking a sail after work.
I'm looking for a retirement boat and what I have settled on is one of the Pivers, Brown's 31 and one of the Wharram boats. I have the space and time to build one but the impatience to want to buy one. I've seen several out in California on various sites and will schedule a trip out there soon with the goal of sailing back home.

ReplyDeleteYes, but the crap is not for sale.
ReplyDeleteAft cabin is the engine room.
Who knows, if she does not sell I might end up finishing her.
